Endeca Unveils Endeca Extend Partner Program to Seamlessly Integrate Complementary Technologies into Endeca-Powered eCommerce and Media Sites

Empowers Customers to Take Advantage of Data within Their Organizations to Create Unsurpassed User Experiences

Cambridge, Mass. - June 8, 2009

Endeca Technologies, Inc., a search applications company, announced today the Endeca Extend partner program which helps its customers quickly and easily integrate eCommerce and Media technologies directly into Endeca-powered sites. Partners build cartridges which plug directly into the user experience using Page Builder, a component of the Endeca Commerce Suite and the Endeca Publishing Suite. The result is an unsurpassed customer experience for end users, increasing revenue, margin, ad inventory and other critical bottom-line metrics.

Endeca Extend is currently focused on eCommerce and Media software vendors. Participating partners include web analytics vendors Coremetrics, Omniture, and Webtrends; user-generated content providers Bazaarvoice, Pluck, PowerReviews, and Viewpoints Network; ad network provider Searchandise Commerce; rich user interface technologies provider Allurent; and recommendations vendors Baynote, Certona, ChoiceStream, MyBuys, and richrelevance. Endeca Extend partners and their cartridges are certified by Endeca.

Endeca Extend empowers retailers and distributors to create effective, profitable site search, navigation, and merchandising, resulting in faster time to outstanding sites with higher conversion rates and order sizes. Endeca Extend enables media and publishing firms to create a site experience that engages visitors and draws them deeper into content, increasing page views, advertising revenue, and subscription sales. Partners create cartridges which site owners plug into their sites using Page Builder. This means site owners can use data from site analytics packages, user reviews, user profiles, and any other source to drive more page views and click-throughs. In addition, customers with multiple sites can take a templated approach to rolling out new features across their properties.

"Searchandise Commerce is thrilled to be included in the Endeca Extend program to bring innovative and compelling solutions to retailers built on Endeca's industry-leading search, navigation, and merchandising solutions," said John Federman, president and CEO of Searchandise Commerce. "With the cartridge strategy, retailers using Endeca's on-site search can instantly begin monetizing on-site search and navigation, turning on an incremental stream of revenue with essentially no disruption to the user experience or reliance on IT resource."

Endeca Extend leverages the recently announced McKinley release of the Endeca Information Access Platform, a major enterprise search innovation based on a fundamentally new architecture for building standards-based search applications. The McKinley release laid the foundation for continuing improvements in speed, scale, and simplicity. This program builds on this open framework to simplify integration and extensibility which allows for easy development of entirely new search applications and cartridges.

"Endeca and our business partners solve specific high-ROI business problems with lower cost-of-ownership, faster time-to-results, and greater value than any alternative," said John Andrews, vice president, Industry Solutions for Endeca. "Endeca Extend provides the foundation to allow our customers to seamlessly integrate technologies with search and navigation-based promotion so our customers can focus on what matters most - creating a superior site experience to grow their businesses."

Endeca Extend partners are participating in this year's Discover conference being held this week in Boston. Discover '09 provides an opportunity for attendees to learn about the latest product capabilities and the roadmap as customers plan for 2010 and beyond.
