

John Federman
President and CEO
John Federman is responsible for Searchandise Commerce's strategic direction, growth and corporate vision. Mr. Federman brings more than 20 years of experience with innovative information technology and media companies to Searchandise Commerce.
Prior to joining Searchandise Commerce, Mr. Federman was the CEO of eStara, the leading provider of proactive conversion solutions for enhancing
eCommerce. After growing top line revenue four-fold, eStara was acquired by Art Technology Group (ATG) in 2006. As co-founder, president and CEO of Dotomi, an Internet advertising company, he was responsible for its successful rollout in the United States. As president and CEO of AdSmart, a CMGI company, he grew the company tenfold and orchestrated its sale to Engage. Following AdSmart, he
joined Newmediary as CEO, and sold that company to CNet Networks. Mr. Federman's career began at Ziff Davis Publishing, where he held a number of positions culminating as Publisher of PC Week, the world's Number One trade journal.
Mr. Federman is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Art.
John Puopolo
Chief Technology Officer
John Puopolo is responsible for the development of all Searchandise Commerce services,
and the management of all information technology functions.
Before joining Searchandise Commerce, Mr. Puopolo was the vice president of software and product engineering at Tele Atlas (acquired by TomTom in June 2008),
where he transitioned his engineering organization to a global structure, streamlined engineering practices and adopted contemporary development techniques resulting in a substantial decrease in time-to-market for end-products and 100 percent improvement in software quality in just 18 months.
Prior to joining Tele Atlas, Mr. Puopolo was the director of software engineering at FAST (later acquired by Microsoft), a world leader in enterprise search software
where he recruited, built and led a U.S.-based engineering team in integrating FAST’s enterprise search technology into commercial third-party products, reduced time-to-delivery by approximately 40 percent, and drove $4M in annual new business via Search Best Practices – a search consulting organization. Mr. Puopolo was also vice president of engineering at International Wireless, and the director of engineering at Lavastorm.
Mr. Puopolo received his B.S. in Computer Science from University of Massachusetts, Lowell, attended the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro and taught computer programming at Northeastern University in Boston.
Laurence Stock
Chief Operating Officer
Laurence Stock is a broadly skilled financial and operational executive with 15 years experience at financing and building growth-oriented companies. His financial and operational strengths drive Searchandise Commerce's growth initiatives.
Prior to joining Searchandise Commerce, Mr. Stock served as CFO/COO of eStara, steering its successful acquisition by Art Technology Group (ATG) in October 2006. Prior to joining eStara, Mr. Stock served as CFO/COO of Dotomi, an online media ad-network, and COO for IMN, Inc., an e-marketing service provider. He also served as CFO of The Reference, Inc., a consulting firm that provided custom analytics and trading solutions to investment managers, where he successfully negotiated the acquisition of the company by a leading offshore outsourcing provider. As CFO of Benchmarking Partners, Inc., a research-based strategy consulting firm, Mr. Stock closed a strategic investment from Cisco Systems.
Mr. Stock holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electronic and Information Sciences and a Post Graduate diploma in Computer Science, both from Cambridge University in England.
Jim Alla
Senior Vice President, Sales
Jim Alla is responsible for Searchandise Commerce’s advertising revenue strategy
and execution, building and managing the sales team and forging manufacturer and
agency relationships. Mr. Alla joins Searchandise Commerce with significant experience in digital media, advertising and
technology solutions. Most recently he served as Vice President of Media at Modiv Media where
he managed the company’s media business, sales channels, operations and overall growth.
Prior to Modiv, he served as Vice President and General Manager of Media, Entertainment and
Communications at Microsoft/FAST Search and Transfer. Previous roles include Vice President of
Integrated Media and Online Sales for International Data Group (IDG), and executive management roles at
24/7 Real Media, Dotomi, Engage and Ziff Davis. Mr. Alla holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from
Middlebury College.
Nancy Liberman
Vice President, Marketing
Nancy Liberman is responsible for the development and execution of the Searchandise Commerce brand and position, demand generation and sales support, public relations and event marketing.
Prior to this engagement, Ms. Liberman served as Senior Director, Marketing for eStara, and managed the brand through its 2006 acquisition by Art Technology Group (ATG). Previously, Ms. Liberman served as Vice President, Marketing, at EnvoyWorldWide, where she was responsible for all marketing efforts, including branding, lead generation, corporate communications, inside sales management and sales support, and helped grow the company until its sale to Par3 Corporation, now Varolii. Her experience also includes a role as Vice President of the high technology practice at Clarke & Company, a Boston-based public relations firm, where she spearheaded efforts for IBM's e-business and software groups, and customer reference programs. Ms. Liberman began her career at Ziff-Davis Publishing.
Ms. Liberman holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston University.
John Kennard
Director, Business Development
John Kennard is responsible for the growth and management of Searchandise Commerce’s retailer network and integration partners.
Prior to joining Searchandise Commerce, Mr. Kennard was a Strategic Development Manager at Google where he was the business development lead in building strategic relationships with some of Google’s key eCommerce and distribution partners. Mr. Kennard was also the lead business member of a cross-functional M & A team, and a founding member of Google Checkout, where he was responsible for signing 12 of the 200 largest online retailers. Prior to Google, Mr. Kennard spent several years at eBay, starting as a sales account executive at VeriSign Payments, and moving over to PayPal.
Mr. Kennard earned a B.S. in Industrial Technology from California Polytechnic State University.
